Dr. Emma Winstead - Veterinarian
Dr. Emma Winstead was born in Northern Virginia but raised around the world as the daughter of a US diplomat.
She found her way home to Virginia for her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UVA (Wahoowa!). She worked a corporate consulting job near Washington D.C. for a few years before cheerfully abandoning her cubicle for veterinary school. She received her DVM in 2019 from Tufts University in Massachusetts.
Largely thanks to Gracie, the 14-year-old Weimeraner she had in veterinary school, Dr. Winstead is passionate about caring for our geriatric pets. Her professional interests also include clinical pathology and ultrasound.
Outside of Acredale Animal Hospital, she maintains a love for wildlife, horses, and her 4-year-old cattle dog (the current light of her life) Roo. She joined her boyfriend in Norfolk, promptly bought a surfboard, and is excited to explore all the area has to offer!
