Dr. Courtney Evans is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She received a bachelor's degree in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992. After working in both public and news/talk radio for several years, she decided to go back to school and pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. She graduated in 2009 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and as part of her clinical training, spent a year at the Ohio State University. After an internship with Affiliated Animal Care in Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, Dr. Courtney spent 2 years as a local relief veterinarian.
Dr. Evans has a very special interest in ophthalmology and completed an externship in Melbourne, Australia where she got to work with interesting creatures such as the tawny frogmouth (a bird the looks like an owl), and an echidna (spiny anteater). Her interests outside of work include reading, horses, music, movies, baking the most amazing fruit tarts, and exploring the Hampton Roads area. Dr. Courtney's family includes Oscar, a terrier mix, Timber, a yellow lab, and Newfy the Newfoundland.
