Dr. Barbara Bell was born and raised in Southern Maryland, and knew she wanted become a veterinarian since she was 5 years old.
She received her BS in biology from Towson university in 1995. She then went on to pursue her dream and received her DVM from Virginia Tech in 2002. Dr Bell worked in general practice for 15 years and for the past 4 years has been working in an emergency hospital. She has a special interest in internal medicine, wound healing, and dentistry.
She has volunteered for two spay/neuter tours- one in the Dominican Republic and the other in Kauai Hawaii. She hopes to do more tours in the future to help promote animal welfare.
Outside of work she enjoys traveling, spending time hiking with her dogs, swimming, and paddle boarding at the beach. Dr Bell's family includes her son, Logan and two fur-kids: Elli -a happy Labrador, and Sam -an energetic Jack Russell mix.
